Built for Stability: Everything About TVS Radeon’s Tyres, Brakes, and Suspension

In a world of everyday commuting, comfort is a want, but stability is a necessity. Whether you’re navigating rough patches, unpaved roads in rural areas or doing your regular work commute, you need a machine that stands your ground, and TVS Radeon has built a reputation for offering the most stable ride and handling in the 110cc segment.

How does TVS Radeon Offer Excellent Riding Stability?

It comes down to robust structural engineering, a fine-tuned suspension setup and rider-focused ergonomics. Here is the breakdown of the heavy-duty hardware that makes TVS Radeon a gold standard for stability on the Indian roads.

18-Inch Wheels

TVS Radeon rides on tyres specifically sized to give riders confidence in a variety of conditions.

  • • Front tyre - 80/100 – 18”
  • Rear tyre - 110/90 – 18”

These wider tyres provide a larger contact patch with the road, resulting in better grip during acceleration. Moreover, larger wheels roll over speed breakers and uneven roads more smoothly, as a larger contact area helps dampen the undulations on the road better than smaller wheels.

Since both tyres are tubeless, air escapes gradually when punctured rather than a sudden blowout. It ultimately gives more time to bring the bike to a complete stop or get to a nearby puncture repair shop.

Controlled Braking

TVS Radeon offers one of the best braking setups in the commuter bike category. It all comes down to optimal braking hardware and the patented SBT developed by TVS Motor.

  • • Front Disc Brake (Digi-Disc variant)

During braking, the bike’s weight naturally shifts forward. The TVS Radeon with a large Disc brake (240mm) allows the front tyre to handle extra load effectively, as this disc brake provides the majority of the stopping power to the bike.

  • • Rear Drum Brakes

Since the majority of the stopping power is handled by the front disc, rear drum brakes offer adequate braking power for a comfortable and controlled stop in city speeds.

  • • SBT Technology

When the rider applies the brake, the Synchronized Braking Technology (SBT) partially distributes braking force at the front wheel. This is useful for the rider who habitually rely on the rear brakes. When both brakes are applied, SBT Technology kicks in and reduces stopping distance, improving the overall stability during emergency braking.

 Heavy-Duty Suspension

Similar to the Super Strong Box Iron Chassis of TVS Radeon, which is designed for everlasting strength and stable ride quality, the suspension setup is also built on a similar “Heavy Duty” engineering approach, and is specifically tuned for unpredictable road conditions.

  • • Front Telescopic Forks

These Telescopic Oil-damped forks offer a longer travel and soft initial bite that absorbs sudden jerks and bumps. Since these forks are held by robust triple clamps, which are connected to the Super Strong Box Iron Chassis. The clamps ensure that even with a total weight of 150-200kg+ (bike + rider), the front end stays perfectly aligned and planted.

  • • 5-Step Adjustable Hydraulic Suspension

The rear end of the TVS Radeon gets an Adjustable Hydraulic Twin Shock Absorber, which can be adjusted in five steps. This flexibility allows the rider to stiffen or soften the suspension based on the weight they are carrying.

The Full Picture

Brakes, suspension and tyres don’t work in isolation, but together as a system. The wide tubeless tyres of TVS Radeon provide the grip and support for the braking bite, the suspension setup keeps the tyres in contact with roads through corners and bumps, while the SBT uses that grip to intelligently stop the bike shorter and safer.

This is exactly why TVS Radeon feels planted and composed even with a pillion rider and luggage loaded. Every component on this bike is tuned to work with the others, not just to look good on the specification sheet.
