TVS Motor Company recorded a total of 104,893 two wheelers in April 2007 compared to 1,24,917 recorded during the same period last year.

Motorcycles recorded 53,499 units in April 2007 compared to 80,862 units in April 2006.

The company will soon launch a New Apache with a sporty new engine and several new features that are normally present in high-end international bikes. This launch is expected to spiral the company’s presence in the premium segment of motorcycles.

The company had recently launched TVS StaR Sport in the economy segment. The initial response has been encouraging and together with all the variants of StaR brand, the company will increase its presence in the economy segment.

TVS Scooty recorded 18,798 units in April 2007 compared to 17,969 units recorded last year during the corresponding period. The launch of 99 colours for the Scooty Pep+ has been very popular with young girls. Encouraged by this response, the company will launch 99 colours in 20 new cities by the end of the month. This is the first time in the world that a Automobile company offers such huge range of customized colours for its product to choose from.

On the export front, TVS Motor Company exported 7,231 units in April 2007 compared to 7,000 units in the previous year
