TVS Motorcycle Sales records 27% growth

Total two wheeler sales at 121,108 units, records highest ever motorcycle and two wheeler sales

Buoyed by new product launches and a 27% increase in motorcycle sales, TVS Motor Company achieved highest ever sales of two wheelers and motorcycles sales in a month. The total two wheeler sales in September 2005 stood at 121,108 units compared to 104,837 units, during the same period last year recording a growth of 16%.

The total motorcycle sales too recorded highest ever sales in a month for the company as the September 2005 sales stood at 75,310 units compared to 59,172 units in the same period last year recording a growth of 27%.

The company launched two new motorcycle variants Victor EDGE and StaR City in September 2005 and the initial response has been encouraging. These new product offerings will enhance and strengthen its presence in the two-wheeler market.

The Scooterette sales stood at 22,697 units in September 2005 compared to 23,150 units in the same period last year. TVS Scooty Pep plus will initially be available in Maharashtara and TVS Scooty brand continues to be the market leader in the sub 100 cc Scooterette segment.

Moped sales stood at 23,101 units in September 2005 compared to 22,515 units in the same period last year. The company continues to enjoy market leadership in this segment.

In the export front, TVS Motor Company recorded 7,512 units in September 2005, recording a growth of 126% compared to the same period last year.
