TVS Motor Company records 4 % growth in two-wheeler sales. TVS Centra continues its impressive feat

TVS Motor Company sales in February 2004 stood at 96,408 units compared to 92,951units registered during the same period last year, recording a 4% growth.

The total motorcycle sales in February 2004 stood at 59,286 units compared to 61,265 units in the same period last year despite the drop in two stroke Max Motorcycles. TVS Centra continued to receive excellent market response since its launch last month and the company is ramping up its production level to meet the increasing market demand. The company is confident that TVS Centra and other new launches in the coming months will enable stronger and accelerated growth of motorcycle sales.

Fiero motorcycles also witnessed an upward trend driven by good customer response for Fiero F2. In order to address a large part of style conscious customers, TVS Motor Company will launch a new 'style' variant of Fiero this month.

The Scooterette sales achieved a significant growth of 37% clocking 14,188 units in February 2004 compared to 10,329 units recorded last year. This was due to strong off-take of Scooty pep. TVS Motor Company continues to dominate the market in ungeared below 100 cc Scooterette segment.

Moped sales stood at 22,934 units in February 2004 compared to 21,357 units in the same period last year, registering a growth of 7 %. TVS Motor Company continues to maintain its market leadership in this segment and has done exceptionally well compared to the industry.
