TVS Racing signs Shreya Iyer - the first woman rider for team

To represent TVS Racing in Indian National Rally championship First racing team in India to sign a woman rider

TVS Racing, undisputed leader in two wheeler racing, signed their first woman rider – Shreya Sunder Iyer - to race for their team. Shreya will be part of the TVS Racing team in Indian National Rally championship this year. With this association, Shreya also becomes the first woman rider to be a part of any racing team in India.

Shreya, 24, has a dream of building a career in motor racing. She began riding at the age of 17 and became the first Indian woman rider to successfully complete a ride across the sand dunes in Dubai. Shreya has also ridden extensively across India including the isolated Suru valley in the Himalayas and also completed a rigorous Southern India biking expedition of 2,000 kilometers in just 6 days.

Shreya Sundar Iyer, the newly inducted member of the TVS Racing team said, “I am proud to be a part of the TVS Racing team. TVS Racing is by far the best Indian racing team with the best motorbikes and trainers. This association will help me work with the best in class machines, racers and technology. I also hope to encourage young bikers especially women to follow their passion for racing and live their dreams.”

The journey of TVS Racing began 33 years back when Sundaram Clayton Limited (A TVS Group company) introduced its 50 cc mopeds in the arena of road racing. Since then TVS Racing has been actively participating on and off- road racing events such as road racing, Super-cross and Motocross, Dirt Tracks, Rally etc. In early 2015, TVS Racing became the first Indian factory team to take part in the Dakar rally, which is the longest and toughest rally in the world. TVS Racing won eight championships across all forms of two-wheeler motorsport events Supercross , Rallies and Road racing last year.
