TVS Motor Company's two wheeler sales in December 2006 recorded 1,03,188 units compared to 1,07,412 units during the same period last year.

The total motorcycle sales in December 2006 were at 58,756 units compared to 68,724 units in the same period last year. However, for the 9-month period ended December 2006 the company's motorcycle sales recorded 7,11,785 units at a healthy growth rate of 21% compared to the corresponding period in the previous year.

In the next few months the company plans to launch a new motorcycle, which will propel the motorcycle sales up further.

The scooter sales reported a sale of 16,616 units in December 2006 compared to 16,051 units recorded last year. TVS Scooty continues to dominate the ungeared below 100 cc Scooter segment.

In the export front, TVS Motor Company recorded 7,088 units in December 2006, at a growth of 17% compared to the same period last year. The company is constantly exploring newer markets to export its world-class products.
