TVS Motor Company's December '04 Motorcycle Sales Records 21% Growth

Records 15 % growth in total two wheeler sales

TVS Motor Company continued its growth curve by clocking 63,496 units of motorcycle sales in December 04 compared to 52,464 units in the same period last year, recording a growth of 21%.

The total two wheeler sales in December 04 stood at 96,886 units compared to 84,306 units in the same period last year, recording a growth of 15%.

TVS Motor Company's sales performance in quarter-3 of 2004-05 has seen growth with motorcycle sales clocking 2,03,245 units compared to 1,62,293 units during the same period last year, recording a growth of 25%. The total two wheeler sales in Q3 stood at 3,22,412 units compared to 2,74,094 units recording a growth of 18%.

TVS Victor GLX 125 CC and TVS Centra continued its steady growth in the executive segment. The new TVS Victor GX 110 CC has been received with excellent response across the country. With all three motorcycles in the executive segment faring well, TVS Motor today has a sizeable share in this segment.

TVS M has begun its inroads in the economy segment of motorcycle market with the recent launch of TVS Star, 4 stroke 100 CC motorcycle. TVS Star has registered impressive numbers in spite of it being available only in North India. It will soon be available across the country and its share in economy segment will see an increase in the coming months.

TVS Scooty continued to dominate the Scooterette segment (sub 100 cc category) recording 14,866 units in December 2004 compared to 13,671 units in the same period last year, registering a growth of 9%. TVS Scooty Pep received yet another accolade by winning the outstanding design award in its category in the recently concluded Business World - NID Design Excellence Awards 2004.

TVS Moped clocked 18,524 units in December 2004 compared to 18,171 units during the same period last year. The company continues to maintain its market leadership in mopeds.

In exports, TVS Motor Company continued its good performance having exported 4,303 units in December 2004, recording a growth of 90% compared to the same period last year.
