TVS Motor Company's total two wheeler sales in September 2004 stood at 1,04,837 units compared to 105,989 units, during the same period last year. However, the total two wheeler sales in September 2004 recorded a growth of 17 per cent compared to August 2004.
The total motorcycle sales in September 2004 stood at 59,172 compared to 64,958 units in the same period last year. However, the total motorcycle of September 2004 grew 21 per cent over August 2004. The launch of 'TVS Star', the entry-level four-stroke motorcycle, in mid October will arrest the decline caused by fall in demand for two-stroke entry-level motorcycles.
TVS Victor GLX 125 has received good response across all regions and is being supported by extensive advertising and promotional campaigns. The TVS Victor Brand together with TVS Centra, has increased the company's presence in the executive segment in the recent months.
The Scooterette sales buoyed by Scooty Pep witnessed a steady growth clocking 23,150 units in September 2004 compared to 18,201 units last year. TVS Scooty brand continues to dominate the Scooterette segment.
Moped sales stood at 22,515 units in September 2004 compared to 22,830 units in the same period last year. The company continues to enjoy market leadership in the moped segment.
