Launched in 2008, TVS King (auto) aka Mileage ka Maharaj - has been the first product from TVS Motor in the 3-wheeler segment. Since its launch, the three-wheeler has rapidly gained popularity in the domestic market. In this period, it has also gained strong traction in Africa, Latin America, and parts of the Middle East, and now has a presence in over 60 countries worldwide. TVS King is offered in three variants – Deluxe, Duramax and Kargo. While the Deluxe and Duramax focus on passenger ferrying, the Kargo focuses on logistics.
Engine and Transmission
TVS King Kargo and Duramax share the same powertrain, a 225 cc single-cylinder liquid cooled EFi engine producing 6.91 kW @5000 rpm and 15.5 Nm @ 3000 rpm of peak power and torque, respectively. This powertrain is mated to a 4-speed and 1 reverse, constant mesh fork and cam type shift transmission with a top speed of 63 km/h.
TVS King Deluxe gets powered by a 199 cc, single cylinder air cooled with Si (spark ignition) producing 7.8 kW @5500 rpm and 15.5 Nm @3750 rpm. This three-wheeler is driven by a 4 forward and 1 reverse speed, constant mesh, fork & cam type shift transmission.
Usage Specific Features
Designed to last, TVS King gets a Semi-Monocoque chassis with hydraulic damper & coil spring suspension. In terms of ergonomics, the 3-wheeler has a large & strong rear view mirror, three sides openable load deck; covered maintenance-free battery and waterproof electricals. These features elevate the TVS King’s functionality to a new level as the TVS King lineup is offered in Petrol +CNG and Petrol + LPG fuel options.

It is a sensibly priced auto rickshaw from TVS Motor that’s designed primarily for passenger hailing purposes. There are two engine options, 199 cc (Deluxe) and 225 cc (Duramax). In terms of features, it is quite a premium three-wheeler that offers convenience and comfort the moment you turn on the ignition. It comes with dual tone seats, easy-to-operate reverse gear with just an upward flick of the gear side handle, a dedicated water holder on the pillar and a driver cabin light. The twin DC headlight offers great luminosity in darker conditions and there’s also a mobile charging socket on the driver console for greater convenience.

TVS King Kargo, on the other hand, gets an i-Touch single start-stop, powerful 225 cc Duralife liquid-cooled engine with 15.5 Nm of peak torque; this engine is engineered for more power and less fuel consumption. The open rear trunk offers massive load-carrying space with an option for High Deck Body Structure fitment for enhanced load-carrying purposes. In terms of design, a Semi Monocoque frame with a trailing arm and suspension both at the front and rear. This ensures more stability, comfort and manoeuvrability. The three-wheeler also gets a dedicated MP3 player for on-the-go entertainment.
On the safety front, TVS King Kargo gets a driver cabin door for enhanced safety of the driver, rear protection grill for overall structural and tail lamp protection. Also, TVS Motor has an integrated combi-brake on all three wheels for effective braking in all driving conditions. The three-wheeler is best suited for load-carrying and logistics businesses. Available in Petrol + CNG and petrol + LPG fuel options, it caters to the needs of a versatile customer base which makes it one of the best CNG auto-rickshaws in India.
